Realising Personal and Organisational Goals utilising Clinical Hypnosis, Cognitive Hypnotherapy, Hypnoanalysis and NLP Techniques
Hypnotherapy
There seems to be a lot of confusion and mystery surrounding Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis specifically what it can and can't do. There are also a lot of myths that have built up over the years - no thanks in principal to the likes of stage hypnotists - that sometimes seem to bring the profession of Hypnotherapy into disrepute.
Hypnosis is not magic - it is just an altered state of consciousness which is different from sleep and unconsciousness. At no point whilst undergoing hypnosis do you lose consciousness - contrary to popular belief and what you might see on TV shows!
Similarly, at no point are your inner most kept secrets revealed spontaneously without your will. Contrary to what some people say, it is simply untrue that anyone undergoing hypnosis will disclose all their secrets. It simply cannot happen unless you want to divulge your secrets.
It is however possible to learn to guide yourself into and out of hypnosis completely safely . At Goals Hypnosis we can teach our clients how to do this should they wish to do so.
People experience hypnosis differently; i.e. there is no specific feeling associated with hypnosis that everyone gets or should get. It is different for everyone and each time you undergo hypnosis you may experience things differently.
Hypnotherapy has been approved by the British Medical Association for more than 40 years. It is a form of therapy whereby the client uses the help of their conscious and subconscious minds to focus their attention internally, re-assessing their resources and thereby creating new patterns of thinking, behaving and feeling.
No one can be hypnotised against their will, nor can they do anything that they would not ordinarily do or wish to do - contrary to what you see on TV shows. It is also important to note that there are no side effects with hypnosis or hypnotherapy.
What is the difference between what a Clinical Hypnotherapist does and a Stage Hypnotist?
It is important to bear in mind that there is a huge difference between what a Clinical Hypnotherapist or a Hypnoanalyst does and what a Stage Hypnotist does. A hypnotist uses hypnosis for amusement in a show and the audience are willing participants. Hypnotists use suggestion, trance and visualisation techniques but they do not use these techniques in a positive way. Stage hypnosis is a combination of coercion, expectation on the part of the volunteer as well as external pressures from the audience and the Stage Hypnotist. Plus it is the exhibitionists who are normally the ones who volunteer in the first place! At Goals Hypnosis we are Clinical Cognitive Hypnotherapists / Clinical Hypnoanalysts - we are not Stage Hypnotists!
What is Hypnotherapy/Hypnoanalysis?
The subconscious mind is our driving force - we always do what our subconscious believes. Since it believes anything it is told - provided it is not harmful to us - we can reprogram it by bypassing the conscious mind and substituting new constructive ideas for its old existing negative ones. So for instance if a client wants, desires and is 100% committed to changing his/her eating habits in an attempt to manage his/her weight through hypnotherapy we can substitute eating unhealthily with eating healthier food items. This explains why hypnotherapy works faster than other forms of therapy because it does not require the individual to rely solely on willpower. Willpower alone will only produce short lived results.
People often say that they cannot be hypnotised or that they are not hypnotisable or that they cannot visualise! The truth of the matter is virtually everyone can be hypnotised if they truly want to be. For hypnotherapy to work effectively the client must want, believe, imagine, expect and be convinced that they can and will be hypnotised for the hypnosis to be a success. There is no point in seeking the help of a competent hypnotherapist if you have doubts about the success or effectiveness of the hypnotherapy or hypnosis. Of course we do not expect everyone to have a thorough understanding of what hypnosis is but only that it will work.
On the first consultation everything is explained thoroughly to the client before any sessions can begin. Indeed a detailed case history of each client is filled out and discussed prior to the commencement of any hypnosis. This is done in the interests of both the client and hypnotherapist.
At Goals Hypnosis we use a combination of suggestion techniques as well as analysis work to help alleviate the symptoms of the conditions of our clients.

Before you decide to use the services of a hypnotherapist or hypnoanalyst it is crucial that you make a commitment to yourself with your subconscious and conscious minds that you will be 100% committed and absolutely dictated to the journey no matter how difficult the ride might be. It is also important that you are honest and truthful with your hypnotherapy otherwise the hypnosis/hypnotherapy/hypnanalysis will not work well or indeed will not be a success. It is of paramount importance that you make this commitment and bear this in mind because the power of change is within the mind of the client and not within the hands of the hypnotherapist.
